To
all of my leaders and volunteers: A million times, "Thank You!" You all do
such incredible work for our students. The rest of the staff constantly are
talking about how awesome a team we have, and many are jealous of my
volunteers. I need to let you know that, because I brag about you all the time.
Great job on March 24th, ROC ran without missing a beat. It's great to know
that the ministry is in good hands if I am gone. Once again, you guys rock.
Every other week or so, I want to put something new up in this section to encourage us, to challenge us, to continue growing in our faith. Leaders can't stop learning, and growing. That definitely applies to me and any other level of leadership in our church. I care about you guys more as individuals in Christ's family than as Jr. High volunteers (I love that a lot, but it's not as important). But, honestly, I'm more concerned about what God has for you, than what you have to offer the students. Anyways. . . **John 15:4-5; "Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful apart from me. "Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing." IIt's amazing, but this verse is so true. Apart from Christ, we can do nothing. We can try to do lots of things, but do they really mean anything. . .are they really truly effective? Some Monday nights, I have to really stop before the night starts and ask God, "Is what I'm doing tonight really for you, Jesus? Is it really to glorify your name and show these students who you really are? Or am I just going through the motions tonight, doing what I'm good at, which is talking to kids?" My prayer for us as leaders is to grow closer to Christ, to abide in him. That means: to remain stable or fixed in a state. . . Do you remain fixed to Jesus? Unmovable. Unshakeable. Let's do that guys. Let's remain fixed to Him in prayer, in worship, in our actions and our relationships. Those who do, Jesus says, produce much fruit. God Bless. Ben |
